About Varanasi 

Varanasi is located on the banks of the holy river Ganga in the Uttar Pradesh. As per the latest study of the IIT-Kharagpur, Varanasi could be 6000 years old. The city has been home to classical music as well as musical Gharanas and recently been called ‘The City of Music' by UNESCO. Apart from music and spirituality, Varanasi is famous for the muslin and silk fabrics, perfumes, ivory works, and sculpture.


The best time to visit the Varanasi is during the winter months i.e. From November to February. During the period the weather is pleasant and low heat makes it easier to roam around. The summers of the city are quite hot and dry which makes it difficult for sightseeing. Another peak season to visit the city is the monsoon. The rain falls are mild along with the charming weather and add to the beauty of the city.


Varanasi has a domestic airport, which is connected with many international airport cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and many others. Those who are flying through international flights can choose any one of those to reach there. The Varanasi Railway Station and Kashi Railway Station are the nearest railway stations and connected with almost every major station of India. From the station, you can take an auto or car to explore the city. If you want to travel by roads, then either you can take buses or cabs to reach there.


The city has a unique taste of cuisine just like its culture. Start your day by hogging the local street breakfast options such as kachori sabji and aloo kachori. The staple meal of the city includes bati chokha, aloo puri and variety of meats like Dalmandi Wale Chicken and Roomali Roti. Varanasi serves you most luscious street food such as Aloo Tamatar Chaat, Golgappe, Launglata, Chhena Dahi Badas and samosa. A person who takes chai seriously, Varanasi is your place, serving you steaming hot kullad chai.
